Born in Lima, Peru, autodidact artist, Martín Revolo is many things: musician, photographer, advocate for the Hispanic community. But most of all he describes himself as a human being. And a very considerate one. Humble, and accepting, doing his best to let go of criticism, and his urge to control a process and its outcome. His very unique artwork evolving along with him.
Martín currently lives and works in San Francisco, California. Self-assertion and expression of principle are important components of Martín’s artistic life.
Connections between his art and his early life in South America are always present. For Martín the inner necessity is still the basis and source of nourishment for his art. He resides in all of his work. Though the viewer may take a different meaning from his images, all have experienced a part of the narrative that is the artist himself.
